This is a 47 y.o. male from Venice, CA, who ever since high school has worn his hair long to hide his ears. He was very self-conscious about them because they had not only stuck out but also appeared much too large for his head. He sought consultation with Dr. Svehlak to help in correcting his ears.
After much careful planning, Dr. Svehlak performed bilateral otoplasty (but ear pinning set back and also reduction in size and height of the ears) under general anesthesia. Incisions were created precisely to access and remove portions of ear cartilage with careful reconstruction and suturing of the ears. Significant improvement was obtained. The patient was extremely happy with the results. He even got a short haircut.
